ehealth for Family Planning and Maternal Health

Client: DFID
Description: Consulting for DFID Kenya on opportunities of utilising eHealth in their new Family Planning and Maternal Health Programmes.

Our role included identifying suitable partners and projects in eHealth that DFID can support as well as organising stakeholder workshops and facilitating high level ministerial discussions on DFID support.

In Phase 2 of the project our role was to identify key projects that DFID could invest in. 

MKifafa (Fafanuka)

Client: Kenya Association of Welfare of People with Epilepsy (KAWE)
Description: Project using mobile phone technology to reduce the epilepsy treatment gap in Kenya by empowering primary health workers, social service providers, caregivers and patients on epilepsy management.

Our role involved developing the concept and, and identifying key funding (Safaricom Foundation) and technology partners (Shujaa Solutions) for KAWE to work with in delivering the solution. As project managers we also coordinated partners efforts to ensure successful delivery of the solution. mKifafa became the first component of the Fafanuka service that was launched by Safaricom April 2014.

Electronic Health Management System

Client: World Health Organisation

Description: Consulting for the WHO on the developing and implementing the Electronic Health Records System intended for use county-wide starting in health facilities in Baringo and Machakos, Kenya.

In Phase 1 our role involved developing the concept for WHO on how achieve quality of care using an electronic health records system

In Phase 2 we undertook systems requirements analysis and development where we developed the technical specification of the system. 

Phase 3 our role involved project management for the development and implementation of the system with software partners in India, coordinating with the Kenya Ministry of Health, WHO and other stakeholders to ensure its successful rollout in health facilities in the counties of Baringo and Machakos. It is currently rolled out in 10 health facilities.

Linda Jamii

Client: Consortium of Britam, Safaricom and Changamka

Description: Innovative and revolutionary micro-insurance product bringing together a consortium of partners. 

Our role was to coordinate the various project work streams formed from among the partners, manage the risks and issues inherent in a project of this size and provide regular reporting to the Steering Committee on the work progress. We have added value in drafting consortium agreements and proposals for funding, as well as moderating workshop sessions to focus on areas of the project that needed attention.

We successfully helped bring Linda Jamii to launch in February 2014 and are continuing as project managers to take Linda Jamii to the next level.

Kenya Sign Language Dictionary app for mobile phones.

Client: Internal Project to assist Deaf Community

PSI Implementation and Maintenance  of a RDT data collection Solution

Client: Population Services International (Kenya)
Description: Project using mobile technology to collect data across 700 clinics and pharmacies in two regions in the coastal province– Kwale and Mombasa Counties. The data collected will be based on usage of stocks for RDTs (Malaria Rapid Diagnosis Tests) and Malaria prevention treated mosquito nets. The data is collected in a manner that ensures the sources are validated, the data capture method is structured to maximize accuracy of information and this method allows for capture using any mobile phone without needing additional training.

Our role involved developing the concept and identifying a suitable technology partner to deliver the solution. We also coordinated the project team’s efforts and managed the end to end processes of the project.
